Kenya upholds a number of international treaties and conventions related to intellectual property rights. National laws that govern registration and enforcement of intellectual property rights include the Trademark Act, Copyright Act, the Industrial Property Act, the Anti-Counterfeit Act and the Protection of Traditional Knowledge and Cultural Expression. Other proposals can be found in the IPOK Bill of 2020.

- Intellectual Property Recordation (IPRs) – this refers to the process of collecting and entering into an electronic database, information from intellectual property right owners regarding their IPRs, irrespective of their place of registration, for all goods being imported into Kenya. Under the Anti-Counterfeit Act, it is an offense to import goods that have not been recorded with ACA. It is required upon importers to declare the intellectual property rights for goods being imported into Kenya
- IP Surveillance – We know the value of your intellectual property assets.
